Upgrade, Optimize, and Save.
Capitalize on this special offer to enhance security, productivity, and desktop management within your organization.
We know that demands on your business keep increasing. You may have teams that require seamless collaboration with coworkers, partners, and customers. You may have mobile employees who need access to applications and critical business information. You may also spend most of your valuable time responding to help-desk calls and security issues.
All the while, the cost and complexity of managing your business environment are on the rise—while your IT resources continue to be stretched to the limit.
With Windows VistaTM, you’ll be getting a next-generation OS that was designed from the ground up to:
- Help reduce security risks. Windows Vista mitigates threats from malicious software such as viruses and spyware, and reduces theft or compromise of corporate intellectual property or sensitive data from hardware that is lost, stolen or retired.
- Enable people to more mobile and more productive. Windows Vista makes it easier for online and offline to stay in sync and enables collaboration no matter where the mobile user is in the world.
- Make it easy for users to maximize the information stored in their computers and across the enterprise.
- Make it easier and less costly to manage desktop images worldwide.
Action
To enable your organization to purchase and deploy Windows Vista, we’re pleased to announce the following special limited-time offer from Microsoft: from May 1, 2007 through October 31, 2007, save 15% on the new Windows Vista operating system Upgrade License when you purchase it for your organization through the Microsoft Open Value or Select Licensing Program.
And when you purchase your Windows Vista upgrade licenses through the Open Value program, you also receive all of the valuable training, upgrade, and support benefits of Microsoft’s Software Assurance.
With Software Assurance comes an automatic upgrade to Windows Vista Enterprise Edition developed especially for organizations like yours. Windows Vista Enterprise provides you with higher levels of data protection; helps you mitigate your application compatibility issues; and helps standardize your IT infrastructure.
And to top it off, you’ll also have rights to purchase Microsoft® Desktop Optimization Pack for Software Assurance—a suite of applications that help deliver an agile, intelligently-managed, and cost-effective desktop management solution to your IT infrastructure.
Thanks to this limited-time offer, your path to the Optimized Desktop has never been clearer—or more affordable—than it is right now.
For more information about Microsoft Open Value and Optimized Desktop, visit the Microsoft Open Value and Optimized Desktop web sites.
Features at a glance: Benefits of Software Assurance available in Open Value and Select L &SA
Windows Vista Enterprise is only available to organizations with computers covered by Microsoft Software Assurance, or a Microsoft Enterprise Agreement. It offers distinct, differentiated features and benefits not available with Windows Vista Business Edition:
Windows BitLockerTM Drive Encryption, which uses full-volume encryption to better protect sensitive data and intellectual property from being compromised on a lost, stolen, or recycled computer.
Rights to run up to 4 "virtual" instances of Windows® operating systems on each licensed Windows Vista desktop, for help in mitigating application compatibility issues arising out of platform migration.
The Subsystem for UNIX-Based Applications (SUA), which provides platform services on which to run UNIX-based applications and scripts.
And the Multilingual User Interface (MUI), which greatly simplifies desktop image deployment by enabling a single image to accommodate a variety of PC form factors and user languages.
The Microsoft Desktop Optimization Pack for Software Assurance consists of a suite of technologies that, taken together, will enable you to better control the desktop, accelerate and simplify desktop deployment and management, and provide highly responsive and centrally-managed IT services to end users:
Microsoft SoftGrid Application Virtualization, which transforms applications into virtualized, network-available services, resulting in the dynamic delivery of software that is never installed, minimizes application conflicts, and requires minimal application regression testing.
Microsoft Asset Inventory Service, which delivers an intelligent and comprehensive view of the enterprise’s desktop software environment, helps to reduce total cost of ownership through advanced software inventory scanning and by translating inventory data into useful, actionable information.
Microsoft Diagnostics and Recovery Toolkit, which provides powerful, intuitive tools that help administrators recover PCs that have become unusable, and easily identify root causes of system and network issues.
And Microsoft Advanced Group Policy Management, which increases administrators’ control over managing Group Policy Objects and role-based delegation down to the granular level, enabling them to gain more control over the desktop.
