Q: (from James)

All of the Microsoft Server and Client products have the ability to support IPv6.

Are there any software tools that you are aware of for monitor and troubleshooting IPv6 on a Microsoft Server or Client.

IPv6 Tools similar to IPv4Tools,

            Netstat

            ARP

            IPCONFIG

            TRACERT

            PING

            ROUTE

            …

Thanks in advance for your support.

A:

Windows Vista, Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, and Windows Server 2008 all have native IPv6 support. Most of the traditional command are extended to support IPv6 if the protocol is enabled (by default in Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008) There are some specialized IPv6 commands and a search of technet.microsoft.com with the keyword of IPv6 turned up over a dozen resources. Here’s a good starting point from the Technet site: http://www.microsoft.com/technet/network/ipv6/ipv6faq.mspx
