What's this buzz about Windows Server 2008 SP1

about screenYou may have already seen this (or will when you install Windows Server 2008) and wonder why does the build read as Service Pack 1. I have a bunch of emails in my inbox asking the same question and quite honestly, it seemed like a prank until I heard it from the man himself.

Check out Iain McDonald's blog and you'll get the run down of why Microsoft chose this particular nomenclature. On the bright side, you dont have to wait for SP1, we just gave it to ya. So shouldn't it be easier to sell WS2008 since customers always wait for service packs before mass adoption?

See we be smart like that! =D
