Advanced SBS 2008 Build Day hosted by Technology Wizards User Group in Portland, Oregon On Saturday, June 6th.
What a great event! We had over 30 partners show for the technology packed day. A lot of great information was conveyed and I want to summarize a few important tidbits below.

Some the refreshments provided (A thirsty bunch!) :
The TS2 team agreed to help out with these SBS 2008 Build Day events through the Western United States. I had the benefit of covering the Portland event.
It was held at the New Horizons Learning Center in Beaverton, Oregon. It was a very nice venue and I thank the staff, especially Doug and Dorothy for their help with the event.
The Advanced SBS 2008 Build Day was hosted by Technology Wizards, a local SBS User Group in the Portland area. Ken Shafer, coordinated for Technology Wizards and emceed the event. Thanks Ken! Read Ken’s event announcement here.

Of particular Note I would call out the sections above in Red, Presented by Dana Epp and Dave Shackelford, both Microsoft MVPs. Not to take away anything from Tim, as he did a great job, but it is rare when we get to see an MVP live!
You can read more about Dana Epp and his company, Scorpion Software, which makes a some GREAT security solutons that bolt on OWA and SBS RWW (remote web workplace) called AuthAnvil and RWWGuard. I cannot recommend them highly enough!
Dave Shackelford provided excellent sessions on Exchange 2007 and his notes can be found on his blog, and are pasted below as well.

Yeah, that's right. Every body else look the other way.
Are you short on space and thinking about using restoring to an RSG located on a USB drive? Remember that you'll need that drive to have an admin share.

You need to set up a dial-tone database, but you need to think carefully about how it will affect your cached Exchange Outlook users.

This is a common problem that I usually hear about via the old, "Server runs fine for a few days and then nothing works, no connectivity at all" story.

This was fun. I need to come back and talk about troubleshooting mailflow hassles.
Dave is also the author s a successful training series on Exchange 2007 distributed by TRAINSIGNAL.
I recorded the event in LiveMeeting, so I’ll see if I cannot post some of the videos here on my Blog.
